Circular or UFO LED High Bays

Because of their perfectly symmetrical shape, these round high bays create a uniform light output on all sides of the fixture, and as a result are more suited for illuminating large open spaces with high ceilings where it is important to get consistent, even light coverage, such as gymnasiums and convention centers. UFO LED High Bays have a simple and compact design, which means they will interfere less with other overhead equipment, and their UL Wet Location Listing makes them the superior choice for environments subject to moisture or environmental contaminants. Usually mounted on one mounting point using a hook mount or conduit pendant, these High Bays tend to be a quicker install, saving on upfront labor costs.

Linear LED High Bays

The Linear High Bay features a rectangular design that creates a focused, directional light output, and is available in a range of size options for different rectangular light distributions. Traditionally, this has included 2ft and 4ft linear high bay configurations, but as LED technology has improved over the years, LED manufacturers have begun to explore more compact, but equally powerful size options. Intended to be mounted in rows, these fixtures excel at illuminating long, structured spaces such as aisles, production lines, and workbenches, making them perfect for industrial or warehouse LED lighting installations. Linear LED High Bays were originally designed to replace old fluorescent tube lights, so they tend to be the fixture of choice to retrofit older buildings as they will fit the existing lighting infrastructure previously used by T5 or T8 fixtures.

Series GKOHB04 Circular High Bay

Series GKOHB04 Circular or UFO LED High Bays retain the traditional look of metal halide fixtures while providing energy efficient LED output, for industrial or warehouse LED lighting projects where a more traditional style of High Bay is preferred. Featuring a 120° wide light distribution, these lights are also available with an optional aluminum reflector for focusing the light towards the floor.

Series GKOHB05 Circular or UFO High Bays are our most powerful LED High Bay fixture with a light output of up to 72,000lm and an incredible efficacy of up to 177lm/W, making them perfect for commercial LED indoor lighting projects with extremely high ceilings. Newly upgraded, this fixture features power adjustment controls with 4 power level settings on all models, and when power is lowered to 300W or below, Series GKOHB05 can operate in temperatures of up to 149° F, ideal for industrial and warehouse settings in warmer areas. Plug & Play Bluetooth Networked Controls are available for all models.

Grouping: Allows multiple fixtures to be linked together into a zone and zones linked together into an area, enabling the fixtures to react and behave the same way.

0-10V Dimming: Allows customized lighting outputs that can be linked to occupancy detection or scheduling functions.

Occupancy Sensor: A single sensor automatically adjusts the light output of all linked fixtures to a predefined level when it senses occupancy in the area.

Scheduling: Light control settings are programmed based on time and day of the week.

Security Lighting: Selected fixtures can be continuously lit to offer security lighting, even when all other lights are turned off.

HOW DO GKOLED BLUETOOTH NETWORKED CONTROLS WORK?

Installation of control hardware is handled on our end, and we will also help with project setup until you are comfortable with using the software. All programming is done using an intuitive, user-friendly application available on a computer or iOS device with an internet connection, which is bundled into the initial price of the control hardware and does not require any subsequent subscription fees.

Project setup and configuration is done in two stages. During the first stage, the project is planned in the software on desktop or mobile, with general locations for the lights and initial programming being decided upon. A single project can include multiple types of fixtures, with different groups of lights being programmed for different behavior. After the fixtures are installed, lights are connected to the Bluetooth mesh network, or “commissioned”, using an iPad or iPhone within Bluetooth range of the individual fixtures. The programming may also be tested and tweaked at this stage. Anytime after the project has been set up and installed, programming may be tweaked from any location, using a computer or iOS device with internet access.

Angle Adjustment Adaptor:

This unique, versatile adaptor may be used in combination with an Area Light or Flat Flood Light equipped with a pole or wall mount to vastly expand the range that the light may be aimed to. Fixtures using this adaptor may be adjusted horizontally, vertically, and any combination of the two for precise aiming of the direction of the light.

4” and 5” Square and Round Pole Mounts:

These mounting brackets are designed to fit on the top of standard 4” or 5” nontapered square or round poles, and are compatible with Area Lights and Flood Lights equipped with a slipfitter mount. This reliable solution allows for a single light to be mounted on the top of a pole, as well as for the direction of the light output to be adjusted if necessary.

Double, Triple, and Quad Horizontal Tenon Adaptors:

Commonly utilized in parking lot lighting, these tenon adaptors enable multiple Area Lights or Flood Lights equipped with a slipfitter mount to be installed on the top of a pole, as well as for the direction of the light output to be adjusted if necessary. These adaptors are designed to fit over our 4” and 5” Square and Round Pole Mount brackets in order to fit on the top of standard 4” or 5” nontapered square or round poles.

90° Wall Mount Bracket:

This versatile mounting arm is used to attach an Area Light or Flood Light equipped with a slipfitter to almost any surface, such as a roof, wall, or wood pole. This bracket is a great solution when it is necessary to mount a fixture vertically, but not on the very top of a pole.

Mid-Pole Bracket:

This versatile bracket is used to attach an Area Light or Flood Light equipped with a slipfitter mount to a vertical surface and aim the fixture from a horizontal base position.

Adaptor For Yoke Fixtures:

In the case that a fixture is not available with a slipfitter mount but comes with a trunnion or a yoke mount, this adaptor allows it to be used with other mounting brackets and expand its mounting capabilities.

How does the Power & CCT selection feature work in our products? Adjustable CCT is achieved by incorporating a mix of 3000K and 5000K LED chips inside the light. To arrive at the specific CCT selected by the lighting professional, the light output of the different color LED chips is adjusted to 100%, 50%, or 0%. Fixtures with adjustable power capabilities have a switch or a dial that controls the strength of the current sent to all the LED chips, which affects their overall brightness. Together, these features allow precise control over the light output of the fixture, to achieve the exact level and color of light the customer requires for their facility.

Choosing Power & CCT selectable fixtures has significant benefits for both distributors and lighting professionals. For a distributor, it can be challenging to predict which power and CCT options will be in demand at any given time. It is possible that a light with a specific power and CCT configuration doesn’t sell well, and just ends up taking up shelf space. Stocking Power & CCT selectable fixtures ensures that one product can fulfill a wide range of project requirements, which means one Power & CCT selectable fixture can replace several fixed power and CCT fixtures on the shelf. This allows the distributor to keep track of fewer products, saving time, money, and labor. Stocking Power & CCT selectable lights also simplifies the work of the sales team, minimizing the range of product configurations they have to be familiar with.

For lighting professionals, selecting LED lighting for a project is a precise art, requiring that many different aspects of a setting be taken into consideration. However, even with the most careful planning, it can be difficult to predict how a specific light will work in an environment. It is much easier to choose the precise lighting for a space when the CCT and wattage can be tweaked on site, and much simpler to adjust the light output if the customer isn’t satisfied with the lighting after the completion of the project. Additionally, for extensive projects requiring different light outputs for different areas in a facility, it is much easier to keep track of one Power & CCT selectable fixture and adjust the CCT and wattage based on the light’s location, as opposed to having to remember the exact installation location for a number of fixtures with different fixed power and CCT.

Linear High Bays

With a high lumen output of up to 50,500 lumens, these powerful, economic fixtures produce an even distribution of light in a long, narrow pattern. This makes them ideal for illumination of aisles with tall shelving, as they will produce uniform lighting across the entire height of the shelves, improving visibility for increased safety and productivity. Additionally, their elongated light output often makes Linear High Bays the more practical lighting solution for long workbenches or production lines. When looking for a one-to-one replacement of existing fixtures, Linear High Bays are designed to replace T5 or T8 fluorescent linear lights. Because of their wider beam angle, they are also ideally suited to installations where more spacing between fixtures is required. We currently offer two series of Linear High Bays – the series GKOMLH and the newer series GKOMLHG4.

Circular High Bays

Because they generally have higher lumen output and a uniform beam spread, Circular High Bays tend to be the preferred lighting option for large open spaces with mounting heights of 35’ and over. Additionally, as they only need to be hung from one point, Circular High Bays will generally be simpler and faster to install than Linear High Bays, saving on installation costs. Circular High Bays are designed to be a one-to-one replacement for metal halide, HID, and HPS fixtures. Most Circular High Bays are designed for an IP 65 rating, and are the better choice for environments that are subject to moisture and environmental contaminants. We offer four series of Circular High Bays, each uniquely designed for a different purpose: series GKOHB02, series GKOHB04, series GKOHB05, and series GKOHB06.

Canopy Lights

Also sometimes referred to as Low Bay Lights, these low-profile, inconspicuous fixtures may be used for open indoor spaces with ceiling heights under 15’. Linear Fixtures

What does it mean when a product is UL Listed?

 
A UL Listed label indicates that the product has undergone thorough safety testing by Underwriters Laboratories, a top Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), and has been certified as meeting the Underwriters Laboratories safety standards for that product category. Though the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) currently recognizes almost 20 NRTLs, Underwriters Laboratories is one of the most (if not the most) trusted and recognized, making UL the industry benchmark for safety certification in the United States.

Originally founded as a non-profit in 1894, Underwriters Laboratories has expanded to 64 laboratories with offices across 46 countries. The organization has been instrumental in establishing nationwide safety standards for commercial and consumer products, defining over 1,500 sets of proprietary safety standards for its independent testing and certification. After a product receives a UL certification, representatives from Underwriters Laboratories conduct periodic follow-up visits with the manufacturer, ensuring continued compliance with Underwriters Laboratories safety standards.

All GKOLED commercial LED lighting products are UL Listed, which is the Underwriters Laboratories certification for end products or complete components. Most of our products are UL Listed for Wet Locations, which means they may be safely used in areas where they may come in direct contact with water. This is especially important for lights that are used outdoors or in wet environments, such as Area Lights or High Bays. Why is it important to use UL Listed lighting products?

 
Why is it important that our LED fixtures are UL Listed? Almost all commercial building codes require that installed light fixtures carry a NRTL safety certification. By obtaining the UL Listed certification for our commercial LED products we ensure that our fixtures are compliant, and that their safety certification is readily accepted.

Additionally, though a UL Listed certification is an indication of safety, not quality, being UL Listed makes a lighting product eligible for DLC Standard and DLC Premium qualification by the Design Lights Consortium, one of the major organizations that help define the standards for quality in LED lighting. A DLC Standard or DLC Premium qualification indicates that a LED lighting product meets or exceeds the standards of quality set by the Design Lights Consortium and is a requirement for most utility rebate programs. In addition to being UL Listed, most of our commercial LED lighting products are either DLC Standard or DLC Premium qualified, ensuring eligibility for utility rebates.

The NEMA light distribution classification system was developed by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association to provide a consistent standard of comparison for beam measurement of directional fixtures, even across different manufacturers. A NEMA light distribution is indicated by two numbers that correspond to the horizontal and vertical light spread of a fixture. It indicates the two planes of light where the light intensity is at least 10% of the maximum light intensity of the fixture (sometimes also referred to as the “field angle”). If only one number is given, it means the fixture has a symmetrical beam spread and the horizontal and vertical beam angles are the same.

A NEMA light distribution is indicated using the following format: NEMA XH x XV. H indicates the horizontal angle, and V indicates the vertical angle. For example, a NEMA 2H x 3V distribution indicates a beam angle that is 18° – 29° horizontally and 29° – 46° vertically.

The ideal NEMA light distribution for your project will be determined by the distance between where the light will be mounted and the area you want to illuminate. A wider beam will work best for a closer distance, whereas a longer distance will require a narrower beam. To illuminate a larger area of light, it is advisable to install fixtures so that there is overlap between the beams, since the beam of a directional fixture gets less intense the further away it is from the center.

Our Series GKOFD08 Flood Lights are available in the following NEMA distributions:

NEMA 4Hx4V (135W and up) – A tight and symmetrical focused beam ideal for illuminating facades and landscape features from further away.
